So it's raining today, here in the land of crushed political dreams. And that means that people were driving like a cat trying to walk across a fire. Poorly.

Anyway, the drive in made me a bit edgy and irritable today...but rather than try to let it go, I'm embracing that shit. My sarcasm meter is straight pegged. I have no time for stupid things or stupid people, so I'm avoiding most everyone. It's nice.

I give your political views 1 star. Mainly because you're educated enough to have a view, but no more than that because you won't keep your views to yourself.

You.

You're alright. You get 3 stars. It would be more, but lately you haven't baked me cookies or anything. So 3 it is. Sorry.

Would get 5 stars, except no cut-paste, youtube destroys the battery, and did I mention no cut-paste?

I love this phone. In fact, I just finished up sexy time with Em with it.

It's that good. Bonus for being free too.

ReviewReviewReviewReviewReviewJawbone Bluetooth headsetApr 22, '08 2:55 PM

Bought a Jawbone Bluetooth headset the other day, after the 4th in a long line of craptacular wires headsets decided to bite the dust. (For those counting at home, that's 4 in 8 months.)

So far, I gotta say, I LOVE it. Great talk time (they claim 6 hrs, I'm saying 4.5) and about 120hrs of standby time. (they say that, I got about 4 days out of it)

Fits really snugly into my ear, isn't loose, which was a real issue with the only other BT headset I ever tried. Has this noise canceling system that is amazing. I've tested it out by driving down the highway with my windows rolled down. Wife could barely hear the wind. Good stuff.

It's a bit pricey, around $120.00. My company bought this for me, though. And got a nice discount too.

Anyway, it stays in my car, except when it needs a charge...then it gets plugged into the back of the mac-mini via USB where it charges nicely. They also included a power supply that the USB cable plugs into, but I haven't used that yet. There are other features, but they mostly aren't important.

The important thing is I won't yank another ear piece out of my ear by getting the stupid wires caught on the seatbelt, or my arm, or the center console or whatever.

Wired stuff sucks. I can't wait for wireless power. :-)

BTW, I am not and nor will I ever be "that guy" who walks around trying to show how important they are by wearing their ear piece all the time. That's lame.

Also...that's not me in the picture, although I'm sure a lot of you single guys wish it was. I'm not a chick, sickos! NO SEXY TIME WITH EM FOR YOU. :-P

ReviewMike Hampton, Braves PitcherApr 4, '08 12:04 PM

MIke Hampton, the former 22 game winner for the Atlanta Braves gets 0 stars. He hasn't pitched in a meaningful game since August 19th of 2005. For those playing along at home, that's almost 3 years. He's managed to hurt himself in every manner, from straining a quad, hurting his shoulder, and his latest "adventure" came about 24 pitches into his warm up when he "twinged his pectoral muscle".

The Braves have paid Mike Hampton a big chunk of the $121 Million dollars (over 8 years) contract. His last year is 2009, whatcha wanna bet he pitches a full year?

If I were the Braves GM, I'd probably be suing to get a large chunk of that money back. Seriously, this is ridiculous.

Having a microwave and a refrigerator in my own office gets 5 stars. Mainly because people are disgusting and don't give two shits about stuff when it's not theirs.

However, people who use my stuff without my permission while I am not in my office get -10 stars and the glare of death.

AT&T gets 0 stars.

here's the deal. At my company, we have two PRIs for voice service. PRIs are line powered T1s, meaning that if power goes out, those lines will stay up, as they're getting their power from the telco switch and line signaling. That's all well and good. The issue is, our PRIs terminate into a MUX. (A MUX is a multiplexing device, meaning it takes several signals and combines them into one.) The MUX has battery back up power. The batteries are dead. The Mux is owned by Verizon. We are a customer of ATT. ATT cannot get Verizon to go onsite to replace the batteries in the MUX.

At this point, it's been over 5 months since we first noticed this problem. Any and all troubleshooting that has occurred has occurred by myself and my boss. We've had 1 tech from ATT come to the site, he saw immediately what the issue was and reported it to a different group, as he's a T-1 repair guy, not a MUX guy. He got the same response we've been getting, PRIs are line powered, ticket closed.

In the past 5 months, I've opened 12 tickets with ATT regarding this issue. Every single one has been closed automatically, and I've never received a call regarding them, except for the 1 time the technician came to our site, saw the problem and said "he'd get someone on it".

Apparently if you aren't a large business they don't give a shit.

I am done. I'm sending an awesome email to our service manager, the Sales guy who sold us the PRIs, and the President of AT&T.

I am hoping that something will be done.

This is horseshit.

The funny thing, I almost ended up working for these guys. Unreal.

My left pinky is feeling abused, since I bit the bullet in Guitar Hero III and moved up to "Medium" difficulty.

Even the simple songs require some dexterity that simply isn't there right now. Poor little pinky got a bit of a work out this weekend.

Good stuff. LULZ.

Genre: Science Fiction & Fantasy
Author:Neil Gaiman
So, about a month ago, Jen and I watched Stardust, which was based on the book by the same name by Neil. We loved it. Kind of like an updated Princess Bride. Anyway, there was a bit in the special features on Neil and he seemed like a decent chap, so I went to my local Borders and picked up American Gods and Neverwhere. (on my trip I picked up his collection of short stories and Anansi Boys. I've read all of them except for the short stories at this point, but I really enjoyed American Gods the best. Great book. If you enjoy fantasy novels, like clever phrasing and enjoy straight-forward story telling, this book is for you.

I won't get into the book too much, other than to give a quick synopsis. A man named Shadow gets out of jail, gets approached by a mysterious stranger and all hell breaks loose from there.

I highly enjoyed this book. First book in a long while that I didn't want to put down.

I imagine I'll get the rest of his adult books...we'll see. Any one in particular (for those that have read his works) I should pick up next?

I'm in an extremely pissy mood today.

I'm trying my damnedest to not let it affect me, but I get the distinct feeling I'm going to explode on someone.

I don't know what the hell is going on today, but everyone has lost their goddamned minds here at work and it's making me very very angry.

I don't like not being able to control my emotions, it means I don't have control.

I like control over the things I can control. Such as my emotions. Therefore, I'm making it worse. Vicious cycle and all that.

It's been about 14 months in this new gig...so here's a review.

I would give it 5 stars, however I don't work from home a whole lot, which would put it at 5. The job is varied, interesting, frustrating, spectacular, hard, involved, fun, and insane at the same time.

In other words, it's perfect for someone like me who cannot stand doing the same things over and over every day.

I <3 my jorb.

If I could go back in time and tell myself to either stay where I was at Bell or take this jorb, I wouldn't hesitate to tell myself to take this one.

So I got that going for me, which is nice.

But changes that make us grow as people get 5 stars.

And no, I'm not talking about the "change" I've included a picture of. HAH! Spoiled your fun!

I used to say that there are two types of people I hate, liars and thieves. I'm adding a third category.

There are now three types of people I hate. Liars, thieves, and retarded people who don't use their brains or common sense.
